Vono
Last updated: September 19, 2026 (revised)
Vono ("we," "us," or "the app") provides a booking, client-record, and communication tool for barbers, cosmetologists, and their clients. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
When you create an account, we collect the name and personal code you choose. Licensed professionals may also add a license number and, if they opt in to public listing, business contact details shown on the Find a Pro directory. Professionals also enter details about services, hours, and clients they serve, as part of using the app.
Both professionals and clients may optionally turn on push notifications. Turning this on registers your browser or device to receive quick notifications about a specific booked appointment; no phone number is collected for this, and it is never shown to the other party. Clients may separately, and independently, opt in to two further categories of message from a professional they've actually had a visit with: shop announcements (hours, closures, new services) and promotions or specials (discounts, offers). Each is off by default and requires its own opt-in; turning on appointment notifications does not turn on either one, and turning on one of these two does not turn on the other.
When a booking is made, we store appointment details: date, time, services, and price.
A professional may take before/after photos during a visit and save them to a client's Vono Passport record. This requires the client's consent, tracked as two separate permissions described below: whether photos may be saved to their record at all, and, independently, whether those photos may also be used in a professional's public portfolio or marketing. The app makes clear, at the moment a photo is about to be taken, that it will be saved to that client's record.
Turning on notifications is always optional. By turning it on, you consent to receive push notifications related to appointments you have booked through Vono. Notification frequency for this category varies based on your own appointment activity. You may opt out at any time from your Account screen or from your browser or device's notification settings.
Separately, a client may opt in to two further categories of message from a professional they've had a real appointment or visit with, each requiring its own explicit opt-in from the client's Account screen and each independently switchable off at any time: shop announcements, and promotions or specials. Choosing to receive one never turns on the other, and neither is turned on by enabling appointment notifications. Only a professional the client has actually been served by can ever send either kind; a professional cannot reach any other client in the app this way, and Vono has no feature that imports contacts from a phone or elsewhere to build a message list. We record the date you opt in to each category as a record of your consent.
Before a professional can save a before/after photo to your Vono Passport, you must agree to it — either by turning it on yourself from your Account screen, or by telling your professional in person, who records that consent on your behalf at the moment they ask. Until that consent is on file, the app will not let a photo be saved to your record. You can turn this off at any time from your Account screen, which stops any professional from saving new photos to your record going forward (it does not delete photos already saved; you can remove those yourself, or delete your account entirely, to remove them).
Separately, and never assumed from the permission above, you may also agree to let those photos be used in a professional's public portfolio or marketing. This is off by default, can only be turned on if you've already agreed to photos being saved to your record at all, and can be turned off independently at any time. A professional cannot use your photos publicly without this separate consent, however long they've been saving photos to your record.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share notification subscription details between the two parties to an appointment. Information is shared only with the service providers that keep the app running (our hosting and database providers, and the push notification services built into your browser or device, solely to transmit messages you've asked to be sent), and only as needed to operate the service.
Account and appointment information is kept for as long as an account remains active. You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time from the Account screen. We take reasonable technical measures to protect stored information, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Vono is intended for licensed and student barbering/cosmetology professionals and their adult clients, and is not directed to children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
